Gear

Every piece comes in five grades and five rarities. Grade sets the level and power, rarity sets how many attributes it carries, and the line decides which ones.

Example

The name tells you everything: “Bulwark Cuirass” is the SLOT (cuirass) plus the SET (Bulwark, which decides which attributes it carries and which rung it sits on). Every rung of every line has its own name, so the Bulwark piece isn't the Rampart piece with a number on it: it's a different item. Rarity isn't in the name either (it's the color), and each step adds one attribute without asking for more levels: that same cuirass at epic still requires level 22 and carries four attributes instead of one.

Grade

Five grades, roughly eleven levels apart: the last one asks for level 45. Power doesn't grow evenly with level, it grows faster, so a next-grade piece is worth the wait even if you're still a few levels short.
