Uncut sapphire

Uncut sapphire is an uncut gem. It comes from mining veins: now and then an ore also brings a gem, at no extra energy. It is cut at the artisan table with Artisanry 20.

Which veins drop it

Every ore a vein gives has a 1% chance to also bring an uncut gem. Which gem depends on the vein: the deeper, the better. This is the chance of this one, per ore. From Mining 30 it rolls twice; in lower veins the second roll gives a chipped gem instead.

Cutting

At the artisan table, with the artisan needle in your backpack: one uncut gem gives one cut gem and, always, a chipped gem as a bonus. It costs no gold.

What it is used for

It is cut into Cut sapphire.

Once cut, it goes into the sockets of weapons and chest pieces that drop. It adds a fixed bonus, different in a weapon and in a chest piece, and once set it does not come out:

Sockets
In a weapon+8 Magic damage
In a chest piece+34 Mana

Sockets

In one of its qualities, it is set at the artisan table to make these jewels (the materials say which one each needs):

Who buys it

Any vendor buys it for 60 each. Mirta, artisan, by the artisan table, pays 25% more for gems: 75.
